The Ruffled Cup was created as Amarillo's first and finest cupcakery in the Texas Panhandle. Owned and operated by mother and daughter, this is a local Amarillo Business, not a corporate chain.
Family traditions have always been the center of our lives. When creating "The Ruffled Cup" we went back in time, remembering when Grandma baked sweet treats in the kitchen, dressed in her little ruffled apron. She taught us how to appreciate the simple things in life, and how to put our hearts into everything we do.
As mother and daughter, we have many fond memories of baking together, making sweet little treats to share with our friends and family. We want to share our love for baking with Amarillo, and we hope our cupcakes taste just like you remember- a classic little cake but with an elegant twist.
At the Ruffled Cup, we pride ourselves in baking our cupcakes from scratch, daily. Our gourmet cupcakes and signature swirled frosting are made with only the finest ingredients, including Callebaut chocolate, European sweet cream butter, real cream cheese, and Mexican Vanilla. What sets our cupcakery apart from other bakeries is our devotion to the most discerning customer’s sweet tooth. We never use a cake mix, or freeze and thaw our cupcakes!
We rotate our menu of over 80 flavors weekly, serving our "favorites" daily, and offering our unique flavors on a rotating basis. Ruby Red Velvet, Va -Va Vanilla, Chocolate Obsession, and our signature cupcake, "The Ruffled Truffle" can always be found on our menu. A minimum of seven additional flavors will be available to enjoy, daily.
Everyone loves cupcakes, and no one makes them better than "The Ruffled Cup!" Custom orders are available with a seven day advance notice. We strive to make your cupcake dreams come true, so no job is too big or too small for "The Ruffled Cup." Cupcakes are perfect for birthday parties, anniversaries, thank you gifts, bridal showers, and weddings.
"We Bake, you smile"
Exposito School of Hair Design is Amarillo's only locally owned and accredited school of hair design. In as little as 9 months, a student can have a lifetime career in the field of cosmetology, a field of high demand, not only in the Texas Panhandle but across the United States.
According to a survey done in May 2003 by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences, the salon industry is a job-seeker's market. Some 56% of the salon owners reported that they had job openings. More than 572,000 open positions were filled in 2002 with both experienced salon professionals changing positions (73% of the new hires) and with inexperienced professionals with less than one years experience (27% of new hires). The supply does not appear to be keeping up with demand. Approximately 3 out of every 4 owners who looked for new employees in 2002 reported difficulty in finding qualified personnel.
The philosophy behind Exposito School of Hair Design was first developed by award-winning stylist, Fred Exposito. With over 50 years of experience in the hairdressing profession, he was committed to the idea that teaching hairstyling must not only include the technical and manipulative skills, but also the habits and attitudes of professionalism. This, combined with the practical experience offered its students, allows Exposito School of Hair Design to prepare them for a successful career in Cosmetology.
