The Amarillo/Canyon Division of the American Heart Association presents the annual Go Red for Women Luncheon! Held in the Heritage Room of the Amarillo Civic Center. the theme of the event is “Go Red, West Texas Style” and encourages the women of West Texas to become champions of heart health. This year’s keynote speaker is Jan McInnis, also known as “The Work Lady,” a comedian and professional speaker who draws on more than 15 years as a marketing executive for funny, engaging presentations about work, family, and day-to-day life.
The event is nationally sponsored by Macy’s and Merck, with support from local sponsors, including the Texas Cattle Feeder’s Association, the Cardiology Center of Amarillo, the Northwest Texas Healthcare System, Physicians Preferred Lab and the Amarillo Pathology Group, and Happy State Bank.
Doors will open at 10:30am, and all women from the community are invited to meet with our sponsors to learn about their personal risk for heart disease and stroke and what they can do to take charge of their health. The seated luncheon will begin at 11:30am, and will include the keynote address, a fashion show featuring heart disease survivors modeling items from local vendors, and a “Purse-onality” auction where attendees are invited to bid on handbags and purses donated by local retailers.
