The Panhandle Restaurant Association, in conjunction with Atmos Energy, Ben E. Keith Company, First United Bank, and Affiliated Foods, will again sponsor the annual Restaurant Round Up. The Round Up, now in its sixth year, will be held at the Rex Baxter Building at the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds, 3301 E. 10th, on Thursday, March 7th. Doors open at 5:00 PM, with the event ending at 9:00 PM.
The event will showcase nearly 50 restaurants and wineries, providing guests an opportunity to try a large variety of local restaurant favorites. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy watching what has become a highlight of the night-the live chef competition, the “Battle of the Chefs.” Chefs competing this year include Chad Lardie of Ember’s, Teffny Lambden of My Portable Pantry, and Karl Smith of Wheatfields in Clovis. Local culinary experts will judge the event.
The evening will feature plenty of seating ,a large dance floor, and live music by Amarillo band Insufficient Funds.
This charity event benefits area culinary classes and scholarship programs, and continues to grow in attendance and popularity every year.
Tickets are available for $25.00 at panhandletickets.com, at participating restaurants including Schlotzsky’s, Macaroni Joe’s, Joe Taco, Joe Daddy’s and either La Fiesta Grande location. Tickets may also purchased at the door on the night of the event.
In return for a donation of three cans to food brought to the door, attendees will receive a commemorative wine glass for use in the wine tasting. The donated canned food will go to the High Plains Food Bank.
